Federico Barbieri was born in Ferrara, Italy. He studied Economics and after the degree he moved to Milan and started his career as fashion photographer.
He has the ability to capture the essence of the people that he is photographing, making his work desirable for commercial clients, fashion editorials and portraits. His photography is defined by his preference for using natural light and working on location whenever possible.
His creative process is research based, marked by an intuitive, almost abstract approach to the subject. As he prefers to give the models freedom to experiment and to explore their own personal expressions, his images are also characterized by a particular energy and sense of presence and spontaneity.
His work is defined by subtle elegance with a classic appeal. He is currently a freelance and working for fashion brands like Gucci, Bulgari, Armani, Trussardi, Canali, Hogan, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, South China Morning Post, Numéro among others.
Since childhood He has a strong passion for flight, sailing, running and travels.
